In recent years, due to the impact of global warming, environmental pollution, and energy crisis, international attention demand for clean are increasing. Hydrogen is recognized as one sources. Water considered largest potential supplier hydrogen energy. However, artificial catalytic water splitting oxygen evolution has not been widely used its high consumption cost during cracking. Therefore, exploitation photocatalysts, electrocatalysts, photo-electrocatalysts rapid, effective, reliable essentially needed. Polyoxometalates (POMs) regarded candidates catalysis. addition their excellent properties reversibly redox activities, POMs can also modify semiconductors overcome shortcomings, improve photoelectric conversion efficiency photocatalytic activity, which attracted more in field this review, we summarize latest applications semiconductor composites photo-electrocatalysis (PEC) by years take photocatalysis splitting. conclusion section, challenges strategies PEC water-splitting discussed.
